LAU-7 SIDEWINDER PROGRAM Marvin Engineering manufactures the LAU-7 Sidewinder launcher for the U.S. Navy. First developed in the late 1950's, the LAU-7/A-6 launcher incorporates a power supply, detent mechanism, nitrogen receiver assembly, and control valve. Marvin Engineering's responsibility on this program is two-fold. In addition to the production launchers, Marvin Engineering had the responsibility for generating a new Level 3 data package in accordance with ANSI-Y14.5M-82, MIL-STD-100 and DOD-D-1000. Once completed, the data package was delivered to the government for future procurements. To date, Marvin Engineering has delivered 800 launchers.
